you stand on a dock, in the middle of a beach. before you, a river (the river...?) stretches as far as you can see to your left and right, but not quite wide enough that you can't faintly make out the opposite shore. the sun is just barely visible over the greenery over there— you can't quite tell whether it's just rising or almost done setting, but the lightshow it makes off of the clouds and water is incredible either way. the smell of the water is cool and rich, thick with the smell of things living and dying in the way only larger bodies of water are.
all in all, it's very peaceful. ]

visually, anyway. after a moment the soft lapping of water is interrupted by the shift of sand and gravel, followed by the wonderful sound of someone heaving up an alarming amount of water somewhere underneath the dock. ]
